St. Augustine Museum, Tours, & Attractions

St. Augustine is the Oldest City and that means it's jam-packed with history and  things to explore! here are many things to see in this city, whether you’re looking for art, history, shopping, nature, activities, or simple exploration. With so many options, how can you just choose ones that you’ll feel satisfied after visiting? To help you out, we've listed some of our favorites.

The oldest masonry structure of its kind in the continental United States, Castillo de San Marcos was built and constructed to guard the coastline against invasion. Walk through the numerous rooms that were once home to war soldiers and prisoners. Out on the large interior courtyard, you’ll see the gun deck and enjoy magnificent views of the city.

Fort Matanzas National Monument preserves the fortified coquina watchtower, completed in 1742, which defended the southern approach to the Spanish military settlement of St. Augustine. It also protects approximately 300 acres of Florida coastal environment containing dunes, marsh, maritime forest, and associated flora and fauna, including threatened and endangered species.

An iconic building at the heart of historic St. Augustine. An extraordinary museum collection. Occupying the former Hotel Alcazar, a Gilded Age resort hotel commissioned by railroad magnate Henry Flagler, the Lightner Museum offers an immersive experience of art, architecture, history, and design.

Located on the main drag of Historic St. Augustine the Oldest Wooden School House Historic Museum & Gardens welcomes visitors to the unique Minorcan homestead of Juan Genopoly, established in the late 1700’s.

Marvel at hundreds of rare and unusual artifacts, play interactive games, take in the sights on Ripley’s Red Train Tours, and even experience a hands-on paranormal investigation at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! St. Augustine.

Tour of Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, the original site of the Nation’s oldest city. Located in the area first explored by Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513 and settled by Pedro Menendez de Aviles in 1565, historic St. Augustine is the oldest successful European settlement in the United States.

Classic Car Museum of St Augustine was created to help bring memories back to life as only Classic Cars can do. Providing visitors the opportunity to experience cars from the 1800s to modern day sports cars.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum has the best view in all of St. Augustine! From the first, wooden, watch tower in the late 1500s to the current St. Augustine Light Station, discover the importance of these aids-to-navigation.

Historic Tours of Flagler College showcase the architectural heritage and fascinating history of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, a nationally designated historic landmark building, built by Henry Flagler in 1887. Flagler's Legacy Tours offers guided tours of this architectural masterpiece throughout the year.

The Villa Zorayda contains magnificent architecture, a collection of antiques, seventeenth-century furniture, and oriental rugs.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park is one of Florida's oldest continuously running attractions, having opened on May 20, 1893.   Offering a diverse collection of inhabitants extends beyond alligators and is the only place in the world to see all 24 species of crocodilians.
